MovedFrom, MovedTo, Moved … Moving tables between extensions!

Have you ever experienced the need to consolidate common tables in a new extension from a behemoth original extension?

Well, I have some good news. You no longer need to use configuration packages, to move bulk data between different tables.

Starting in Business Central 2025 wave 1, and AL extensions with runtime 15 you can transfer tables between extensions.

Imagine the use case below:

You might want to consolidate common tables from various extension (T12 from Extension 1 and T23 from Extension 2) into a new common extension (Extension 3)

You no longer need to export data with a configuration package and import the new configuration package.

You can just dislocate the tables from original extension and “move them” into a new extension.
